How do I get a library card?
The Chili Public
Library requires a picture ID with your current address (i.e., driver’s
license, passport, work ID.) If your ID does not have a current
address, the library accepts a checkbook, piece of mail (utility bill),
or pay stub with your address in addition to your picture ID.
For a child to receive a library card, their parent or legal guardian
must fill out an application in our presence. There is no age limit for
a library card.
How long can I keep the items I check out?
DVDs and videos have a one
week loan period. All other materials have a three week loan
period. Most items may be renewed twice except: DVDs marked “New,” items on hold
for another patron, and Quick Reads.
How much are the fines?
Fines are $.35 per item per
day that the library is open.
Is there a limit to the number of
items I can check out?
Yes, there is a limit of
seven
DVDs per individual. All other items are unlimited.
May I return my items to any library?
Yes, items from the Chili
Public Library may be returned to any Monroe County public library.
How can I renew materials or check my
account?

in good standing, most materials may be renewed twice. Go
online at www.chililibrary.org,
